In the first five months of this year, China's import and export of general trade totaled us $550.43 billion, up 46.9%, 2.9 percentage points higher than the growth rate of China's import and export in the same period.Of this, exports totaled us $256.15 billion, up 32.5%.Imports totaled us $294.28 billion, up 62.2 percent, 4.7 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate of imports in the same period.The general trade deficit was $38.13 billion, compared with a surplus of $11.96 billion in the same period of 2009.During the same period, China's import and export of processing trade reached us $429.76 billion, up 39.4 percent.Exports totaled us $269.92 billion, up 32.9 percent.Imports totaled us $159.84 billion, up 51.8 percent.The trade surplus under processing trade increased by 12.6% to us $110.08 billion, equivalent to 3.1 times of the total trade surplus in the same period.
